TeachingBooks is a database of resources for children's and young adult books and their authors and illustrators. Use TeachingBooks to search titles, authors and illustrators, and find resources to engage readers. The resource collection includes short movies, audio book readings, book discussion guides, and more.

TeachingBooks can help you figure out how to pronounce an author’s name. You can also watch a video of the author read the book (picture books) or an excerpt (chapter books). Most books have a jigsaw puzzle of the cover of the book that you can put together. The website also has mini author biographies, activity guides, and lesson plans. Most of the books comes with a text complexity rubric which shows the book's reading level across multiple reading scales, including Accelerated Reader. Books can be searched for by grade level, subject, genre, cultural experience, publishing year, awards, and more.

TeachingBooks is for all learning communities that use preK-12 books: preK-12 schools, universities and teacher training institutions, public libraries, education consortiums, homeschool communities, as well as students and families.

TeachingBooks provides Spanish-language resources. They also offers many French resources, as well as resources in, or about books written in, Chinese, Hmong, Ojibwe, Passamaquoddy, Russian, O'odham, and more.
